What is the PM KISAN program?
The PM Kisan (17th Installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi) program is a central sector program with full central government funding for small and marginal farmers. It entered into force on December 1, 2018. The scheme provides for the aid of Rs 6,000 per year paid in three installments to farmers’ land.
With support from the state government and UT administration, farm families will be identified as supporting farmers for the program. The fund will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The definition of family here involves the husband, wife, and minor children.

- Step 1: Visit the official website https://pmkisan.gov.in/.
- Step 2: At the top, there is an option “Farmers Corner” and select the link of the option provided.

Some more details under the PM-KISAN scheme
- Took place in June 2019 by extending the benefits to 14.5 crores of land for farm families regardless of the size of the land.
- Under the PM Kisan regime, there is an exclusion for institutional landowners, farming families in constitutional positions, active or retired civil servants, and employees of the state and central government or public sector enterprises and autonomous bodies of government.
